"Every person carves their own destiny.
By the time the sculpture is complete,
they are no longer there.

-Mher Mkrtchyan

The Mher Mkrtchyan Museum was opened on December 20, 2006.

The building where the museum is located was once one of Mher Mkrtchyan’s favorite places — “Usta Karo” Khash House.

The home where Mher’s family lived was originally a multi-family residential building.

The museum building is a 19th-century structure, located on Rustaveli Street in Gyumri, within the historic

Kumayri Reserve-Museum District.

The two-story building includes an exhibition hall displaying museum collections, as well as a small cinema hall where films are periodically shown and various cultural events and gatherings are organized.

The museum showcases the great actor’s stage costumes and personal belongings, props used in different films, gifts, books about Frunzik, and other personal items.

It also has more than 270 photographs related to his life and creative career, along with samples of official documents.

Preserved in the museum are Mher Mkrtchyan’s pencil drawings, caricatures, letters, telegrams, and business cards.
